An RV is also an inexpensive way to travel. RVers can find cheap and even free places to camp especially in the southwestern states.
If you are someone with middle-class or higher-class means, you can probably retire to Florida or a planned retirement community. However, these options usually run between $150,000 and $200,000.
You can indeed find a viable option when you are looking for inexpensive housing, particularly during your retirement years. It is possible to live within your means and still find things to do to enjoy these years of your life. All you need to do is find the area in which you wish to live and start hunting.
